Richard was awarded an MD (Doctor of Medicine) for his work on molecular and serological diagnostics in infective endocarditis. This was funded by a 3 year project grant from the British Heart Foundation. More recently he has been involved in large, commercial multicentre studies evaluating therapies in hyperlidaemia, atrial fibrillation, acute coronary syndromes and heart failure.
